LIVERMORE — Wildlife photography isn’t for the impatient or the heavy-footed, but neither of those qualities apply to 15-year-old Vishal Subramanyan.
For the past two years, the high school sophomore has been producing some of the best animal photographs area rangers say they have ever seen.
“I find bobcats fascinating,” he said. “But being able to observe them up close is rare.”
A sophomore at Irvington High School in Fremont, Subramanyan spends most weekends hiking East Bay hills and valleys with his cameras, a couple photography buddies and often his father, Shyam.
His regular haunts include Del Valle Regional Park, Sycamore Grove, Brushy Peak, Coyote Hills, and, further afield, the areas around Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County. He became interested in wildlife photography... read more here.
